What is the Foundation?
The LoveReading Foundation exists to help ensure that a child's opportunity to become a reader is not determined by their circumstances.
Who is involved?
Founded by Deborah Maclaren, CEO of LoveReading, the LoveReading Foundation brings together a highly experienced Board of Trustees with expertise spanning education, literacy, children's books and publishing, business, finance, fundraising, governance and social impact.
Our mission
Working collaboratively with the Board, Deborah is building on LoveReading's long-established relationships with schools and the book community to create an independent charity capable of making a meaningful difference at scale. Together, the team combines a deep understanding of the challenges facing schools with commercial, educational and charitable expertise, united by a simple ambition: to ensure that a child's circumstances never determine their access to books, reading and the opportunities they can unlock.
Our Foundation
The Foundation is an independent charity established by LoveReading, drawing on its national school network, book-industry relationships, audience and fulfilment capability.
Governance
The charity is independently governed by its Board of Trustees. All arrangements between the Foundation and LoveReading are transparent, and charitable funds are used solely to advance the Foundation's charitable purposes.

Too many children are growing up without the same opportunity to find and choose books they love and will bring them joy. The LoveReading Foundation is working to change that by connecting funding with the schools and communities where access to books is most limited.
